WBA champ Pacquiao assures fans of health, eyes two dates for return

on

Manny Pacquiao has assured his fans that there’s nothing to be worried as far as his eye is concerned.

Returning to the country after his win over Adrien Broner, the WBA champ gave an update about his apparent detached retina he suffered during the fight. He dispelled any fears about any implications of the said injury.

“OK naman, ayos lang. Gasgas lang, sabi ko two to three days lang ito,” Pacquiao told ABS-CBN‘s Dyan Castillejo about his eye which suffered an abrasion during the fight with Broner.

Before going back to home, Pacquiao spent a brief time with his family in Los Angeles. There he watched his favorite team, the Golden State Warriors and bumped with former foe Floyd Mayweather at the game. When was asked about the possible rematch with the undefeated American, the eight-division world champ said that they haven’t talked about anything about such.

But if the fight pushes through, Pacquiao revealed that there are groups already expressing their interest to host the rematch.

“Nag-say hello pa lang naman ako doon,” He said, “Hindi kami nag-usap (About the fight). Siguro in one to two weeks, malalaman natin kung may development with Mayweather.”

“Maraming may gusto ng laban na ito. Maraming bansa na nagbi-bid ng laban. China, Dubai, kung sakaling matuloy ang rematch.”

Whether or not Pacquiao will face “Money” after his successful title defense, he intends to make a quick return as early as May. A July date is also in consideration to accommodate his duties as a legislator.

“Yung tinitignan namin na months ng next fight either May, Cinco de Mayo or July. Kasi ’yun kasi ’yung time na wala tayong Senate, trabaho,” He said.
